Professional environment illustrating PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE & COMPETENCY VERIFICATION

GRANDE AFRIQUE CVI

Practical ability, demonstrated through work.

Grande Afrique CVI is GAC’s Professional Practice and Competency Verification initiative. Participants practise with relevant tools, complete supervised assignments and demonstrate the quality of their work against defined competencies.

A controlled environment for meaningful evidence

Work takes place within a GAC-controlled environment using realistic assignments, dummy departments and appropriate internal projects. The assessment is based on the work the participant performs and explains. External employer evidence is not required.

Professional guidance helps participants improve their approach. Assessors examine accuracy, work quality, reasoning, integrity and the ability to explain the results—not simply attendance or completion of a course.

WHO IT IS FOR

A pathway suited to your stage of practice.

01

Emerging practitioners

Students seeking supervised practical exposure and evidence of their ability to carry out workplace tasks.

02

Aspiring practitioners

People preparing to enter a field of practice or move into a new professional role.

03

Practising professionals

Experienced practitioners seeking to demonstrate, strengthen or extend defined practical competencies.

04

Employers and professional teams

Organisations seeking documented evidence of practical skills to support staff development and recruitment decisions.

HOW VERIFICATION WORKS

From a defined competency to an assessed outcome.

01

Agree the competency

Discuss the area of practice, readiness and assessment requirements. Confirm the scope, tools, schedule and fees before enrolment.

02

Prepare and practise

Work with professional guidance, relevant software, templates and realistic tasks. Build the skills needed for the agreed assignment.

03

Carry out the work

Complete the assignment personally in the GAC environment. Retain your working files, analysis and supporting evidence.

04

Explain your conclusions

Show how you approached the task, why you selected your methods and how the evidence supports your results.

05

Review the evidence

Assessors evaluate the work against the defined competencies and provide feedback on strengths and gaps.

06

Receive the outcome

A satisfactory assessment supports the appropriate competency verification statement or recommendation letter. Further practice or reassessment may be recommended.

AREAS OF PRACTICE

Develop capability in tools and real professional tasks.

Data analytics

Data preparation, completeness checks, analytical tests, exception interpretation and management reporting. The data analytics pilot design uses Excel and Power BI, with guided tasks and independent project work.

Forensic investigation

Practical tasks may address transaction reconstruction, evidence schedules, financial analysis and clear presentation of findings. Availability and the assessment scope are confirmed with GAC.

Systems and other practice areas

The wider initiative can cover ERP, internal audit management systems, analytics and other professional areas. Programmes are introduced in phases, based on available tools and assessors.

Flexible participation

Virtual delivery combines live guidance and independent work, enabling participation across Africa. Timing and duration depend on the competency, assignment and participant’s readiness.

WHAT VERIFICATION MEANS

A recommendation earned through demonstrated performance.

Outcomes may include an assessment record, competency verification statement, recommendation letter or reassessment plan. The record relates to the defined tasks and demonstrated performance.

CVI does not award an academic qualification or a statutory practising licence. Participation does not guarantee a favourable assessment or employment.

How long does a programme take?+

Duration, live session times and independent work requirements are agreed for the selected competency. Contact GAC for the current programme details.

Do I need access to my employer’s records?+

No external employer evidence is required. The assignments and assessment environment are controlled by GAC.

How do I apply?+

Send an enquiry with your area of interest, current experience, location and availability. GAC will discuss readiness, available programmes, the assessment scope and fees.
