Audit & Assurance
An audit report creates value when findings lead to action. Agree a responsible owner, a realistic deadline and the evidence needed for closure. Review overdue actions with management, and keep the board informed about material risks that remain unresolved. Closure should follow evidence that the agreed response has been implemented.
Data & Analytics
A duplicate payment alert or unusual transaction identifies something to review. Confirm the data is complete, validate the test and examine supporting records. Some exceptions have legitimate explanations; others reveal errors or control weaknesses. Record the reason for each conclusion so the results can be reviewed and recurring checks improved.
Risk & Governance
A useful risk register connects each risk to organisational objectives, existing controls and agreed responses. Give owners clear responsibilities and review dates. Discuss changes in exposure during planning, budgeting and project reviews, and escalate matters that exceed agreed limits.
